在人教版的高中英语选择性必学第二册有如此一句（第32页）：
And in America, peoplewho receive 25% of their daily calories or more through sugar are twice as likely to die from heart disease than people who receive less than 10% aday.
感觉这里的 as…than 用错了吧，不应该是 as…as 吗？
在表示比较时，英语一般的搭配是 as…as（等量比较）或-er / more / less…than（非等量比较）。但有时确实可以见到 as…than 如此的使用方法，其缘由是：当 as…as 中间的成分比较“复杂”时，说话的人说到后面时就忘记前面的 as 了。事实上这种使用方法不只在平常的阅读中会时不时碰到，而且连某些英语词典和语法著作也有所网站收录。如下面一句摘自M. Rundell 的LongmanEssential Activator（见该书第113页），其中就用到了as…than：
Garage mechanics are twice as likely to overcharge womencar-owners than men.
修理汽车技工对女人用户开价过高的可能性是对男士用户的两倍。
